Help with the mortgage
Since he had not yet received any of the government financial help he had requested, and fearing the loss of his home and shut-off of utilities, a desperate team member contacted the Foundation for help. Unable to afford health insurance, diagnosed with both bone marrow cancer and kidney failure (with his wife suffering from melanoma and diabetes), the team member was extremely grateful and relieved when the generosity of the Partners supporters provided a mortgage payment, paid his water bill and a portion of a medical bill on the family’s behalf.

Help in the worst of times
A few months ago, a team member and his wife (parents of five children) made the decision to take in a nephew when the child’s father passed away. When this team member suffered a venomous snake bite and passed away, his concerned manager contacted Partners for financial help for the stricken family, since the team member had no life insurance. Through their generosity, Foundation supporters provided funds for a utility payment, car payment, as well as a part of the funeral costs.

Medical Help
After experiencing a heart attack resulting in having stents put into his arteries a couple of years ago, a long-term team member began experiencing severe muscle weakness in his legs. Without medical insurance, the team member couldn’t pay for the required muscle biopsies; besides, he was now more concerned about dealing with medical treatment required for the brain tumors his only child had been diagnosed with. His wife was frantically searching for a job, while trying to care for their child, when the family was turned down for Medicaid relief. His General Manager suggested the desperate team member contact the Foundation; through the generosity of its donors, Partners was able to offer help with the stricken family’s mortgage payment, medical bills and utility bills. When notified that financial help was on its way, the extremely grateful team member responded “We can’t thank you enough for what you are doing; we really do appreciate it.”
